Question: do you enjoy testing chemicals for drugs or is it something that you just do?

A bit of both. I do enjoy what I do and when there is a new chemical to test I find it quite exciting to see what it will do. However you have to repeat each experiment a number of times to make sure that the result is true and not just a ‘one off’ finding so that is not so enjoyable (but I don’t dislike it either). When a chemical gets approved for further preclinical tests I am proud of the fact that I was one of the people who did the initial testing.
