• Question: Do you think people who smoke sholud get treated if they have a smoking related illness?

      Yes definately, however it is important to offer help to that person to stop smoking and to help them understand the dangerous effects that smoking can have both on them and people around them.

      SO this is quite a hard question, part of me wants to say yes, but then to be consistent we should also refuse some treatments for people who don’t eat a recommended diet or who don’t do the recommended amount of exercise or who don’t have 5 portions of fruit and veg every day… it becomes just impossible to apply. Having said that I wonder if there should be some smaller payment if it can be shown that your illness is related to a particularly bad lifestyle. Like people probably take better care of their teeth knowing that it costs money to get treated by a dentist.

      Hmmm need to think about it more.
