I still have an interest in archaeology but I wasn’t sure that I would want it as a career. I enjoy digging things up and when I was younger I went to a few open digs at Hadrians Wall which I loved. I had a small ‘museum’ area in my house where I would keep pottery, clay pipes and other finds. I also love fossils and had a collection of those too. I think I just decided to keep it as a hobby rather than a job. When I left school I still wasn’t sure what I wanted to do but I had decided to do science A levels in the end (Maths, Chemistry and Biology) so I carried on with science at University. It was only in my third year at University that I really started enjoying science and thought that I would enjoy it as a job.
