0 Question: what happens if you need the toilet whilst wearing a space suit? Asked by microcoolio to Darren, Deuan, Duncan, Lori-An, Michelle on 21 Jun 2010 in Categories: General.
Darren Nesbeth answered on 21 Jun 2010:
You blow it out the airlock.
Deuan Jones answered on 21 Jun 2010:
I don’t know – that’s why I never wear a spacesuit around the house – you never know when you might need to go. I’m guessing you get told this in astronaut training though – are you a spaceman?
Michelle Hudson-Shore answered on 21 Jun 2010:
I hope that it has got some kind of way of collecting it or it could get very messy!
Lori-An Etherington answered on 21 Jun 2010:
Space suits have built in facilities 🙂
Duncan Hull answered on 21 Jun 2010:
Its not very easy.

Washing, brushing your teeth and shaving are quite tricky too
But there is an upside, according to the article above:
“In the microgravity environment of space, it is apparently possible to move oneself around by farting.”
So you’ll be farting around, quite literally!
