When I was doing my degree I had to do a project and then write a report about it (called a dissertation). I decided to investigate whether animals have language. It was fascintaing to learn about which animals were cabale of understanding and using various aspects of language without actually talking. Such as Chimpanzees that can do sign language, dolphins that understand simple grammer and parrots that don’t just copy speech but can use the right words in the right situations. So it wasn’t so much a discovery of something new that I had done but it was something really interesting that I discovered through science.
