Hello, I don’t think I have a favourite part of the drug development process. I work in the very early stages of the process where I test the chemicals in a model of learning and memory to see if they work at the proposed receptor. I really enjoy what I do and have been working on this project for about 5 years now. In the future I would like do do research that is more clinical so I am also studying medicine right now, perhaps I will work in a different area of drug development in the future, Im not sure yet

Near the beginning – studying individual proteins and genes to find out something to target with a potential drug – for me that’s where the really interesting bit happens. The end bit when a possible drug goes into human trials is probably the most exciting, but by then so many people have been involved in a project that you can lose the feeling of connection to the project if that makes sense
