      I initially went to university to study anatomy and physiology but the way the course was organised you picked three subjects to study in first and second year and then chose one of these subjects to study in more depth in the third and fourth years. I had chosen anatomy, biochemistry and pharmacology and found that I really enjoyed learning about pharmacology and the way in which drugs work on the body. Once I had finished the degree I decided to stay on at university and do my PhD in Pharmacology and Neuroscience and this kind of led on to postdoctoral work.
