It’s like being an explorer. Who wouldn’t want to be an explorer?

Well it’s something I enjoy, I realised it would be a good job and I think it’s eomthing important to society.

PS I also like burning things – did you have anything planned in between school and becoming a little old lady?

Because I’ve always been fascinated with all kinds of Science (and I find scientists are usually interesting people to work with too)!

Because I have always been curious and wanting to learn new things and science is perfect for that. I’ve always had a passion for caring for and understanding animals, in particular primates (monkeys and apes), My work as a scientist allows me to feed that passion, and make a practical difference to laboratory animals’ lives.

I didn’t plan to be a scientist, it just kind of happened. I went to University to study science because I had been good at it at school and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. It was only in my third year at Uni that I really started enjoying learning about Pharmacology so I stayed on to do my PhD and it was during this time that I realised that I would enjoy being a scientist as my job. I enjoy what I do so I am glad that found something that interests me
