Eventually the nuclear reactions inside the sun which make all the light will stop because the hydrogen fuel they are running on will get used up and the sun will die.

But don’t worry, it won’t be happening for another 4 billion years yet! So we probably won’t live long enough to see it… unless you’re clever enough to find the secret to eternal life before then 🙂

Both will. I won’t be there to see it though.

I think eventually all stars die or blow up or whatever it is they do, so technically yes I suppose our sun will. I think this will be millions of years from now though, but a physicist will probably give you a better answer.

Hi this is an area that I know very little about. The sun has apparently been around for about 4.6billion years and is unusually stable in comparison with other stars (http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/S/Sun.html). It has been predicted that it should last another 5billion years. Likewise the earth should theoretically last a few more billion years as long as we look after it 🙂
